made the unfortunate decision to go with Renasant. We had a 60 day close. I followed up weekly to see what they needed and was told nothing was needed and that we were on track. Our close was scheduled for a Monday. The Wednesday before close (when other mortgage companies typically are sending you pre-close documents), I received an email with a list of documents they wanted to see. I scrambled and got them what they asked for. On Thursday I received a new list of documents they wanted. I scrambled that day, as well. Not surprising that on Friday I received a third list of documents they needed. The attorney’s office also reached out to say that they had tried contacting the lender and was not receiving a call back. I finally got them to respond to the attorney. I was told everything was done on Friday and that we were set to close. Monday morning I woke up to an email saying “I wish I had better news” and listed a bunch of documents they wanted. Some which I had provided that they didn’t feel were clear enough (which is fair, but had they started on my loan at any point prior to day 57 of a 60 day close they would have given themselves time to verify this). There were also new documents they were requesting, as well. As I was rushing on Monday trying to get them what they needed and instructing them AGAIN to communicate with the attorney’s office on updates (as they were again not communicating), I received an email from Jen Mizzel (the processor) saying “I know you are anxious to close, but ....”. I’m sorry, but I’m not “anxious” to close. I scheduled this closing 60 days ago based on Renesant saying they could handle the job. My credit is fantastic and I had every piece of documentation they needed. They just waited too long to ask for the documents and were too unorganized and inept on their end to make it happen. Her calling me “anxious” was disrespectful and showed her complete lack of awareness of how their lack of ability caused this entire situation. DO NOT USE THEM. I missed my closing and you will, too. Their explanation to me was they were overworked and pushed other mortgage applications in front of mine then ran out of time to do their jobs. This cause me to lose credibility with the seller and to have to miss extra time off work, as I had to travel out of town for the closing (and when it didn’t happen the day it was supposed to...). GO ELSEWHERE unless you enjoy ineptitude and not closing on time on to be treated as if you somehow are the issue!!!!!!!! This was my 7th time purchasing or refinancing a property, and it was mind boggling to watch how poor of a job they did both in their actions and words. Save yourself the headache and use a different mortgage company.
