One star is a compliment after our experience. I'm sure there's plenty of great employees at CLM, but Dena Miller is probably the worst Loan Officer there. She doesn't know what she's doing, and with the second opinion we got from another mortgage lender, they had no idea what she was doing either. Dena told us we were approved for a USDA loan for first time buyers. So we "locked in" to use her words. Two weeks later, she calls me way after 6:00pm to inform me that my wife and I made $500 too much to qualify and we needed to apply for a conventional loan instead. Second mortgage company said we made $10,000 too much. So they or we had no idea what kind of math Dena was doing... On top of that, none of Dena's assistants could get my wife's name right. Called her by a different first name and then spelt her last name wrong for every letter they send us now... The APR rate wasn't that different between the two loans, but we had to come up with over DOUBLE the amount we thought we were going to put down. After that point, Dena basically did nothing to help us. By the way, this deal fell through two weeks before our closing date. My wife and I love our new house, but Dena made it a nightmare to buy it. Buying a house, especially your first house, is supposed to be a very exciting time. Dena and her team almost completely sucked the joy out of this moment and ruined it for us. Again, if you have to go through CLM, request ANYBODY but Dena. I couldn't tell you if the other Loan Officers are any better, but I know Dena is the worst option for anybody. Especially people who are buying their first home. She put us on the back burner and didn't treat us like actual home buyers. So we got the short end of the stick with that one. When I'm spending hundreds of thousands of dollars, I want to be treated like a paying customer.
